For all those conservatives angered by David Letterman’s joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter (and they have a right to be upset by the joke) where’s the outrage over yet another racist e-mail from a government official directed at President Obama? This e-mail sent by Republican legislative aide Sherri Goforth (as in, Go-forth and do something stupid) comes in the form of a “commemorative card” showing all 44 US Presidents. President Obama, however, appears only as a pair of wide, white eyes set in a dark background.
The chairman of Tennessee’s Democratic Party wants a Republican legislative aide fired for sending out a “reprehensible” e-mail depicting President Obama as two cartoonish white eyes peering from a black background.
Obama’s image is in the last square of a collage containing portraits of the previous 43 U.S. presidents. Copies of the e-mail were posted on the Internet Monday.
