What is Pixrat?

• Save links to your favorite photos on the web and see a preview of the same as thumbnails. You can bookmark and access photos from different computers connected to the Internet.
• Share your favorite photos with friends, family, colleagues and others.
• Discover new and interesting photos. You can browse the popular photos from the web that others have bookmarked and add them to your collection.

Getting started with Pixrat

Pixrat is very simple to use. The following steps will get you started.

• Create Account - To be able to bookmark your favorite photos you need to create an account. To create an account just register yourself from the "Login/Register" box. You can see this box on the top right corner of every page when you are not logged in.
  
  You can browse what others have bookmarked without creating an account or logging in.
• Login to your Account - You need to be logged in to your account to start bookmarking photos.
• Bookmark Photos - There are various ways to bookmark your favourite photos from the web.
  • Bookmark directly from the Browser - You can submit and bookmark interesting photos that you came across while browsing the web by installing the following bookmarklet on your browser.
    
    
    Just drag and drop to the Links toolbar on IE or to the Bookmarks toolbar on Firefox or Safari. IE users can alternatively right click on it and select Add to Favourites...
    
    Once you have the bookmarklet installed on your browser you can just click on it while you are on the page that contains the photo(s) you want to bookmark. You can continue browsing after you are "Done" bookmarking.
  • Bookmark on Pixrat - You can submit and bookmark photos on Pixrat by either providing the url of the page where the photo is present or specifying the image url of the photo directly. Just click on the submit photo link.
  • Bookmark Photos submitted by others - When you browse photo bookmarks of other users, you can add the ones you like to your collection by clicking on bookmark it link present along with the thumbnail. This link is visible only if you are logged in.
• Add Tags to your Bookmarks - Tags are keywords used to describe the photos that you are bookmarking. E.g. if you are bookmarking a photo that shows a beautiful sunset in hawaii, you would want to tag the photo with sunset hawaii. You can later browse the bookmarks by tags. all tags will show all the tags used by everyone to bookmark photos on Pixrat.
• Browse Photo Bookmarks - When you visit pixrat.com your are shown all the photo bookmarks ordered by recency(recent). You can view by current popularity(popular) or all time favorites (top).
  
  
  You can also browse bookmarks by users(User) and tags(Tagged).
  
  You can view your bookmarks by clicking on the my bookmarks link from the top right of any page when you are logged in. Similarly my tags will show you the tags that you have used to bookmark your photos.
