Sustainable architecture is making headway across the globe, but for most ordinary citizens the green dream has been just that, a dream. A new prefabricated housing unit from Orca Yapı Sistemleri, a Turkish construction company, may make the switch from grim to green a bit easier.

Two of the 12 solar panels on the roof (of this display unit) are for heating water and the remaining 10 are for electricity. Normally a house of this size would be covered in panels but the unit is so efficient and there is so little energy loss that we have done it with 12 panels
