Give the whale a chance!

It's shocking to think that the Western gray whale population is now down to only 25 breeding females.

This summer the whales will be heading towards their historical feeding grounds around Sakhalin Island off the north-east Russian coast - which has now become a site of huge oil and gas exploitation projects.

We are urging the oil companies BP, ExxonMobil and Rosnef to give the whales a fighting chance of survival. They must suspend further exploration activity until a scientific survey is completed to assess how damaging their activity is to the Western gray whales.
