When there's food that smells good and tastes even better, distance isn't a problem. That's why customers from San Francisco and San Jose have converged on Oakland, and the Delicieuse Princesse Bakery.
They come from all directions, in fact, to buy the popular French-Vietnamese baked goods. And they have two site choices: the first Delicieuse Princesse Bakery at 317 13th St. in downtown Oakland and its 2007 addition at 3331 International Blvd. in East Oakland.
There's pate chaud — a pork, mushroom and onion pie that's the bakery's most popular pastry. Then there are butter jam cookies, coconut macaroons (which are incredible), sweet butter toast, raisin pound cake, pineapple muffins, raspberry rings, apricot twists, elephant ears, walnut pies, even M&M cookies, and all types of buns and breads, with or without filling.
