Anne on the Move | Bushwick

Roberta's in Bushwick

Roberta’s in Bushwick. Think Stone Barns of Brooklyn with an added dash of indie soul.

A few weeks ago I took a road trip to the outer edges of Brooklyn, Bushwick to be exact. I had heard about Bushwick as being a new area where hipsters and artists were moving for the big, light-filled lofts. But just as big of a local draw is Roberta’s Pizza, which has been open for about a year and is building a community of artisans, farmers and anti-elitist foodies.

We had to look twice for the door of the place — it felt more like we were walking into a mechanic’s warehouse than a restaurant. But once we made it inside, and caught a whiff of the delicious brick oven pizza and the beer hall, family style setting, we knew we were in the right place. And how right it was! Think Stone Barns of Brooklyn with an added dash of indie soul.
