The party responsible for the economy being in a  twist and credit in a crunch have scrutinized President Obama's every move, but have they now gone too far?

During his Presidential campaign, the then Senator promised his wife, Michelle, that he would take her to see a broadway play in New York City once the election was over. Now that's he's been in office for almost six months, he made due on his promise and jetted his wife to NYC for their regular "date night" Saturday (May 30) afternoon.

The RNC immediately took to the press and said the President's  statements about understanding America's financial woes lack merit when he and his wife jetset to New York for " a night on the town."

The RNC went on to highlight the pending General Motors Chapter 11 filing, hinting the President has misaligned his priorities. "Putting on a show: Obamas wing into the city for an evening out while another iconic American company prepares for bankruptcy,"

The White House declined to comment.
